Frequently asked questions
How do I make a booking?
You need a valid credit card or debit card to book online - we accept Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Electron and Mastercard credit cards and Solo, Switch, JCB and Laser debit cards. Your credit card will be charged for a 10% deposit (downpayment) and a booking fee (US$2.00 unless you are a MyHostelworld or Gold Member) or hold a valid discount card. Once you have selected your destination, preferred hostel, number of people and number of nights you will be prompted for your credit card details to confirm your booking. You will receive an on-screen confirmation of your reservation which you should print and bring to the hostel. The balance due when you arrive at the hostel will be clearly displayed on your booking confirmation.


Do I need to reconfirm my booking before arrival?
Unless specified by the hostel directly on the microsite or on the conditions you have recieved you do not need to reconfirm. Please print out your booking confirmation and have ready for check in at the property booked.

I need to cancel or amend my reservation
If you wish to amend or cancel your booking you must contact the property directly using the contact details on your booking confirmation, please remember to quote your booking reference in any correspondence with the property.
In the event of a cancellation the booking fee and deposit are non-refundable. You must give at least 24 hours cancellation notice to the property to avoid a no-show charge. The no-show charge is the total of the first night's accommodation cost and will be charged to your credit card if you do not notify the hostel in time.
You can log into your MyAccount to view full booking details.

I need to contact the property before I book online
Unfortunately we do not provide contact details before you book. Once you book we provide you with telephone, email and web address of your chosen property. All the information you need should be provided by the property on their page or "microsite" online. These pages are updated by the property.

Can you check availability for me
We do not check availability for you. The property uploads its own availability and rates. Please enter the dates, number of nights, people and city you are looking for. You will then need a valid credit card to book.

Can you resend my confirmation
Once you click the “Confirm” button it should only take up to 1 minute to receive confirmation of your booking on screen. Do not click the confirm button more than once or you will be charged more than once. Please note that due to the nature of the internet and individual e-mail servers that sometimes confirmation e-mails will not be received or you may have misspelt your email address. As a precaution all your bookings are also stored in our online travel itinerary planner, MyAccount. Please login here to find your booking. By booking through MundoHostel.com in asociation with Hostelworld.com you automatically become a MyAccount member and can access this area at any time to view your bookings.
